Travel with Gary Yeowell

Beautiful Travel photography will be the main inspiration this month, and Gary Yeowell is the star of the day. Here is the link to some of his many photos that i will try to mimic in Nashville. Im kind of nervous of night photography ( you really gotta learn when to use that flash ) but I'll be fine :}

Personal Cam(era)

My camera is a Fujifilm Finepix S3000. It gets the job done, yes, its a good camera. But it can be hard to get clear pictures without a tripod. I have the pictures of the Retro Disk, so you will see what I am talking about soon. In the mean time, I will keep looking for a updated version of the same camera, and maybe even get a film camera along the way :]

Is the updated Photoscape all whats its cracked up to be? I edited this lion here. See for yourself :}

Back in Time With James Dean!

Thanks to Netflix, Ive had the privilege to " go back in time" with movies. People are so talented! One of my favorites was Rebel Without A Cause, with the amazing James Dean. I know he was much past my time, but I really enjoyed his acting because it seemed so natural ( not to mention how charming he was- swoon! ). I purchased something that came from the mail, and the package it came in was a cardboard circle with a smaller one in the middle- it looked like a miniature record. I decided to go retro, and  get some material and trace the shape on harder paper, which was black, and draw a photo of him. It was hard because, well, we are so used to drawing on white paper, and filling in with dark pencil. Try it the other way around, and you've got a whole new story. But with practice, it got better and even seemed easier. Well, now im almost done, but so far its looking amazing and real because half of his left eye is not there because of the whole in the middle. Can you say original?! Pictures will be up soon of the finishing touches, so just hang in there :}

Watercolors for the Rainy Season

I dont know about anywhere else in America, but here in Tennessee, its been pouring down rain for days. Because of being inside so long, I decided to go on NatGeo for a while and I found this beautiful picture of a wolf. I especially love its eyes ( along with the snow-ah! Amazing ) and the fur colors blend in sooo well. After the rain stopped, I decided to get out for a while and take pictures, and I found a watercolor set in my closet! I havent used it in weeks, so I decided this wolf would be the lucky pick to paint. I am going to start with colored pencils first to define the boundaries, then paint away. Ill upload pictures of it in progress, and then finally- the finished work! :}
